Dresses of Hope

Matthew 25

"The King will say to those on his right,'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me some thing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me some thing to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did you see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

It's Growing

Hey Guys, just thougt I'd let you know that Dresses of Hope is expanding to a few states. One of my friends heard about what we were doing and got inspired to launch a dress ministry at her church in St. Louis. This summer she is going on a mission trip to work with orphans in Kenya and is going to hand deliver dresses that she made to the children. I also just found out that a lady in our church has told her mom who lives in Florida, about it and is going to make dresses for Dresses of Hope and ship them to us.
Wow, what a blessing!!! Thanks to all of the people who have given contributions and sewn dresses for Dresses of Hope. Your hard work is greatly appreciated by the girls that will wear them.

Our 3rd Shipment of Dresses

Our friends delivered the dresses to Haiti recently, however they were working in the medical clinic instead of in the clothing distribution area of Lifeline. They didn't get to hand out the dresses, but they did manage to snap a picture of one of the girls wearing a dress that had been made. Here it is, check out her smile. Keep posted for a future sewing day in May!

116 YARDS of FABRIC

Today we went to the fabric store in town, Rader's Fabric, and they donated 116 yards of fabric!!
I'm soo thankful to God for how he has blessed Dresses of Hope and for the generosity of the owner of the fabric store. My mom and I've already made 6 dresses out of the fabric. This is a true gift because we were really in need of fabric and then boom, we get more than enough fabric to clothes 116 kids that are in desperate need of clothes. Keep sewing and we'll send more down to Haiti very soon. We already have 38 dresses done.
