Dresses of Hope

Matthew 25

"The King will say to those on his right,'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me some thing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me some thing to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did you see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Why Mexico?

Some people have asked me why our next project for Dresses of Hope is going to Mexico.
Well, this summer a group from our church, including my mom and I, are going to spend a week at
orphanages in Monterrey, Mexico. So we thought it a great opportunity for us to give them the dresses. I can't wait to go!!=) Aren't they beautiful?

What a Blessing

One of our friends is a very talented seamstress and she heard about Dresses Of Hope. She wanted to donate fabric, so she came by this morning and dropped off LOTS of pieces of bright and cheerful fabric. It was such a gift from God and will now bless lots of little girls around the world.

We Have Almost Reached Our Goal!!!

Hi everybody, this morning I was counting all the dresses that we've made and I was surprised to count 55 beautiful dresses!!!!!
Our goal was 60 but since we are so close to 60 I'm going to push for 70 dresses. So keep sewing. Thanks so much for all your help in making the dresses.

A dress does make a difference in a little girl's eyes

Every week my family gets newspapers from my parents home church, southeast Christian Church. Yesterday when we got the newspaper on the front was about a mission team that traveled to Sudan and made the pillow case dresses for the girls. It is so amazing how one little dress can make HUGE difference in the eyes of a little girl. If you are interested in reading the article go to www.southeastchristianchurch.com and search Sudan mission trip and at the bottom of the page it will say"A pillowcase that shows somebody cares."

The Dress Project

When I started making the dresses I wanted to reach out to girls in poverty that didn't have hardly any clothes. Dresses of hope is currently working at a goal to send 60 dresses to Haiti this coming January. The dresses are a blast to make, they are simple but adorable when you add embellishments and only take 30/60 minutes. Here is an easy patteren just for you!
